Merry Christmas!

Christmas tree wormsGoing to just add a short note to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. We’ve been busy here hitting the beaches everyday with Mike in town, and we might not get a break to post something on Christmas Day so I wanted to put one in today! Having an early Christmas wish is ok, it will help you as you rush to finish all your shopping. In Curacao, we do Christmas trees differently – the picture on the right is a stack of Christmas tree worms on a piece of coral.

Water swingWe  got to Kokomo Beach yesterday (it’s just a short 5 minute drive from where we live) and had a great snorkel. They’ve added a swing set – in the water. A great way to cool off after a session in the hot sun.

Seahorse at Kokomo BeachKokomo Beach has a lot of great coral to snorkel over, and there’s always some fun fish to see. Today was no exception as we got to see a little seahorse holding on to a little tiny sprout of coral.

Hope you all have a great Christmas and Sinter Klaus brings you everything you could hope for, including warm weather, sunny skies and beautiful blue oceans to swim in!

I’m asking you

Safyre TerryDo you have a heart? Will you help a young girl deal with her grief?

Safyre Terry, now just 8, lost her parents and three siblings in an ARSON fire. She was savagely burned, but has survived after numerous operations to repair the damage.

She would like you to send her a Christmas card. Will you do that?

Her address is:

P.O. Box 6126,
Schenectady, NY

Pam and I have sent her a postcard from Curacao (which will never reach her before Christmas I’m sure) and we’ll do the same from Bonaire.

I hope you will too.

Merry Christmas!

Christmas 2015Well….

Christmas 2015I realize it’s a little late but Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! Pam and I have been very sick with a mean version of the flu, that has left us still suffering since getting it before New Year’s. Not been a fun six weeks.

Anyway – we’re slowly getting both feet back in the puddles around here in the Lower Rainland, so I thought I’d put up a little post here to show you our Christmas yard.

It was Pam’s great idea to make a “hockey rink” and have the “Penguins” play against our Santa ref and players! It was tons of fun. We’ve already started plotting how to make it better for next year!

Here’s a little movie that Pam took.

Here we go again!

Christmas Lights 2013

Well we’re back in the sunny climes of Aruba for a short visit. Looks like we timed it perfectly as the weather has reached -20 in Surrey! It’s a chilly +32 today in Noord. Hopefully the water will be fine and we see lots of fishies.

Our flight here was quite nice. We flew a short hop from Vancouver to LA on a smaller commuter plane which is quite nice. Two seats to a side and the flight left on time, and arrived early. We had a short layover and then on to Newark. Flight left on time, and arrived early. The flight to Aruba was very nice. Left on time, arrived early.

Christmas Lights 2013Got our rental car in record time, and headed to the resort. We managed to arrive ahead of a horde of people, and we’re in our unit quickly. We took off for the grocery store to load up on pop and coffee.

Had a nice dinner at Barney’s and then came home to crash. As we were driving around all the round-abouts (traffic circles) are decorated with Christmas lights.

So… we’re here in the heat feeling sorry for those who are stuck in the cold and snow. Do think of us, as we think of you!
