Bailey in the pool

Serpentine Hills

Bailey waitsSerpentine Hills is a new park to Surrey’s extensive park list. It is part of Tynehead Fish Hatchery, but separated by 168th avenue. It is bound to the north by the Trans Canada highway. They have constructed a paved ring path, approximately five kilometres long, that winds around the perimeter of the park. It’s mostly open to the sun, but has some short sections covered by trees. It’s quite scenic, and the path is nice to walk, even in the rain since it’s paved.

So that’s where Bailey and I went for a walk today. It was fun, and she got to meet lots of other dogs. She’s been very good meeting them, including a small Corgi, a big black lab, and a smaller poodle.

Bailey in the poolHere is a short video of Bailey enjoying her first splash into a little kiddie pool we got for her. She just loves being in the water, and leaps in and out then runs around like a fool! Pretty fun to watch. Better than most TV shows.

  1. If she is listening to you and good at coming back in the yard, chances are you can trust her off leash in low excitement areas at first. Rosco could not be trusted at first.Bassets are pretty much idiots who follow their noses and are easily distracte but now, after seven months, we trust him to a degree. He has come so far!I bet bailey will be a whole different animal in a year and will just shine with gratitude because you have saved her.

  2. She seems to be liking living here ๐Ÿ™‚ She got in the lake today and had a bit of a swim, then in her pool once or twice. She is doing great meeting other dogs, tho we have not tried her off leash.

  3. That’s fun..
I have a kiddy pool for Rosco but he will just drink out of it as will our black cat Sammy Lo Chang. It looks like Bailey is very comfortable and spoiled (as it should be ๐Ÿ˜‰
    She is looking great.
