Getting a radiation treatment April 13th 2011

Outside the Cancer ClinicI thought it might be interesting to see what happens when someone has radiation. I took a movie when I went to the treatment today, so it shows what happens while I am in the room. It takes about 9 minutes for the movie to run, but it shows how exacting it is, and how much preparation they do before they actually zap you. ๐Ÿ™‚ I like the way the machine moves. The bed/stretcher I am on swings out sideways as well, when they do the boost radiation treatment.

This movie shows you what happens during a radiation treatment. We are told to not move. Even moving fractionally can mean they have to reset everything or move you back to the original position, so as you can see, I don’t move a muscle. ๐Ÿ™‚ This was taken at Fraser Valley Cancer Clinic

  1. hi Cathy,
Well you were asking me about the machine and I was trying to describe it to you but I was doing a poor job of it, so thought a picture would be better, then thought a movie might show it best, how it rotates ๐Ÿ™‚

Mum & Dad O, thanks ๐Ÿ™‚ Maurice has been pulling the majority of the gardening work around here thus far. He planted that tree himself and he has been planting bulbs. I have used a small rake with an extension handle and have raked out dead leaves etc.. and even doing that it’s enough to tire me out. I’m almost done now though and then can look forward to my energy coming back. ๐Ÿ™‚
